CHAPTER 9. BUILDINGS.*
Sec. 9-5. Adopted by reference.
(a) Chapter 5 and Appendix Chapter 1 of the Uniform Code for
Building Conservation, 1997 Edition, published by the International Conference
of Building Officials, one copy of which is on file in the office of the city
clerk of the city, are adopted, and each and every provision set forth, with the
exception of those amendments hereinafter appearing, is referred to and made a
part thereof for all purposes as if fully set forth herein.
(b) The use of Chapter 5 is limited to changes in occupancy
groups from existing single-family dwellings, as defined in the California
Building Code (CBC), to use as Group B occupancies, including offices,
professional or service-type transactions, as defined in Section 304.1 of the
CBC. Further, use of Chapter 5 is also limited to structures within "areas with
special use policies" as specified by asterisks on the general plan map dated
February 1991, which map is attached to Ordinance 2064 as codified in this
section.
(c) Use of Appendix Chapter 1 is limited to the altering,
renovating and remodeling of unreinforced masonry buildings. (Ord. No. 2064
