The Salinas City Council serves as the policy-making and legislative body of the City of Salinas as well as the Board of Directors of the Salinas Redevelopment Agency. The mayor serves a two year term and Councilmembers serve four-year terms.
The City Council seeks guidance and input from Salinas' residents in order to carry out their duties. To fulfill that need, the City Council has formed a number of boards, commissions, and committees who study various issues and recommend appropriate direction to the
City Council.
