The City Clerk's Office is the record and archive keeper of the City's legislative actions, which includes indexing and retrieving documents, ensuring transparency, and is responsible for the recordation and codification of the Salinas City Code. The Office of the City Clerk is also responsible for filing lobbying campaign reports and statements of economic interest filings in accordance with the Political Reform Act, Brown Act and AB 1234 Local Ethics training filings. The Office of the Clerk oversees Commission/Board/Committee vacancies, appointments, ceremonial function, serves as the election official for local municipal elections, responds to records research requests, serves as liaison for public inquiries and provides support to the City Council and the Measure V Oversight Committee.
