Fire Department
Measure V Funded
After devastating cuts to the City budget in the early portion of the decade, the voters in the City of Salinas approved Measure V, a 10-year sales tax increase. These monies were allocated across the City for the support of City departments which provide services to our residents.
Of that money, the Fire Department was able to purchase a wildland firefighting vehicle which will provide enhanced wildland firefighting capabilities to the City's green belt. Also with the allotted monies, the Fire Department was able to purchase two command vehicles, which have proved to be vital at the scenes of fires and other major emergencies.
