Recreation After School Programs

The City of Salinas Recreation-Park Division offers free after school programs for youth at several of
its recreation facilities Monday-Friday between the hours of 3:00 p.m - 5:30 p.m. These programs offer a safe, fun and positive environment where youth can participate in a variety of enrichment activities in a recreational setting. Staff is available for homework assistance and computer access is
available at some locations.

Breadbox Recreation Center

The Breadbox Recreation Center is a Non-traditional recreation center with an emphasis
on our community youth. The Breadbox offers a variety of drop-in recreation programs and services for youth with opportunities to participate in activities that foster friendships, and encourage a healthy lifestyle through the participation in positive recreational experiences. The Breadbox also offers several Middle School Dances, Band Nights and 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments throughout the year. Hebbron Family Center

Hebbron Family Center Teen Lounge is open Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and provides a location for teenage students to hang out and just kick back with their friends in an environment designed for youth. We offer pool, free use of Internet access on our lap top computers, the latest Xbox games being projected on a "larger than life" screen and a variety of other in-house activities. In addition to the regular after school hours, the Teen Lounge is open Monday-Friday before school from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and on Saturday evenings from 6:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m. For more information on Hebbron's teen program, please contact Recreation Coordinator, Mark Bruszer at (831) 775-4231.
