New Ladder Fire Truck

The  Fire Department took possession of our newest ladder truck to be placed into service at Fire Station 5 this summer. The unit is an identical twin to Truck 1 based at the Headquarters station on Alisal Street Ladder 2 will be placed into service on July 2nd with  a crew of four personnel  initially at Fire Station 1 until  needed  improvements  to Station 5 can be completed. Ladder 2 will be assigned one paramedic/firefighter daily and have all advanced life support equipment on board.

Last year, when responding to EMS incidents, Ladder 1 cared for 5 cardiac arrest field saves. This level of service demonstrates the  City  Council's commitment  to  providing rapid paramedic response citywide and the SFD's partnership in the Monterey County EMS System.

Funding for the new ladder truck and improvements to Station 5 are part of the SFD's allocation(s)  from Measure G. Please join Chief Rodriguez in thanking our community for Measure G and for the continued support on public safety from our City Council and City Manager.
